And of course if the nations you want to play are also the ones with new features from this DLC. So what you have to ask yourself is if you want to play, quite often, small, mostly peaceful nations, if so Common Sense enhances this EU4 gaming style. Monarch points that would be directed to coring, war taxes, culture conversion, peace costs, goes to development, Civ5 achieve this through policies. What you must consider, and is said in the wiki, is that improving development through monarch points is a more peaceful way to grow your empire, building it small and tall instead of low and vast, less province conquering, more infrastructure. The adjustments in buildings mechanics allows for provinces specialization without considerable building spamming. You are binding yourself to one very specific feature of this DLC. Maybe I am misunderstanding something, if so, please correct me. My problem is, that with the DLC, you are able to unlock more slots for your provinces, but without it, you have to take what you get. I am afraid, I do not know what you mean :P Originally posted by thiagovdandrade:I had a similar opinion until i have read this: Originally posted by Jack_Daniels:For the most time I played EU4, i played it without any DLCs and it was. P.S.: I hope I did not make to many grammer mistakes, english is not my mother tongue :P So the reason for me to start this discussion is not to hate on paradox or someone else, I am just wondering what are the experience of other people playing the game without the DLCs or playing it with just one or two of them. I have the feeling that without the possibilty to upgrade my provinces, I am missing out on a big part of the game, because it is limiting me quite a bit, but then again, this is just my opinion. ![]() ![]() ![]() I am aware of the fact that you are still able to build up your provinces, but only to a certain degree, even the best provinces in the game are only able to handle somewhere around five buildings. As I said, many of the other featuers that are coming along with the DLCs are nice, but not particulary necassery, the ability to build buildings that give you significant bonuses however, should be in the core game, at least how I see things. Most of the features like transfering occupied provinces to allys in a war or upgrading ships with one click instead of disbanding them and build them up from the bottum are pretty convenient, but I could live without them.Īlthough, since the new patch came out, i feel pretty screwed, because without the DLC (common Sense) I am not able to upgrade my provinces. For the most time I played EU4, i played it without any DLCs and it was.
